What does the word story resonate with in your mind?
Does it strike with the stories that we read in the books or the stories that we now see in the social media?
Snapchat was the first to come up with the story feature in October 2013. Thereafter Instagram in 2016, Facebook in 2017, Whatsapp in 2017, Twitter in 2020 and LinkedIn in 2020. Though, Snapchat was the first in the race but Facebook and Co has been churning more revenues through the story features, because of the mass active users in all of the platforms.
Back in time people used to learn through books, then come the videos thereafter through scrolling the feed and now by swiping the stories.
In January, we discussed here, how stories create a true scarcity when information is available in abundant that’s a miracle, isn’t it? Don’t you swipe through all the stories?
We learn what we consume consciously or unconsciously. We have been consuming all the stories. I was observing stories of one of my beloved seniors who went to Gulmarg for skiing. I don’t know whether I am interested in skiing. However by consuming those stories I was curious to visit Gulmarg and enjoy the snowfall. That’s how the consumption of the stories ignited the curiosity in me unconsciously. Luckily, the senior told me that if I am uninterested in skiing I will be bored in a day or two. Be careful with your data diet (: Choose your data dietitian wisely 😆
