Online Education – II

Since last couple of days, we have discussing about education. Firstly we discussed about University classes and thereafter about Online ones. Today we will talking more about live online courses in a group.

There is no such challenge apart from losing on the physical interaction. One needs to be more disciplined here. If one wishes to ignore the class, one is free to do so. It is difficult for the teacher to detect if the student is paying attention or not, whereas in a classroom a teacher can easily pick those students. Self discipline is required more than ever before. It is not easy to create the same classroom environment just over a mobile device. Since childhood, we have the habit sitting in a classroom and listen to the teacher. In between talking with our friends. Apart from that there is no much difference as the teacher is explaining the same stuff, the students can ask their doubts and can have a healthy discussion with the teacher.

The interaction among the students decreases. New bonds won’t be formed as we are not conversing with students apart from our close friends. More efforts need to be put on socializing skills by the course owners. They need to have more group activities, where student will get to know one another and built team spirit.

When the next generation starts their classes directly from home not by visiting the school, they will be more comfortable with it. However, kids won’t learn to be self dependent as parents will be policing their child most of the time whether is taking the class attentively or not. With evolution, new techniques will surely come up and we will be able to adapt to it. Socializing will be more important than ever before.
