Plough Pose | Halasan

I have been doing the above asana for over a year now. Today me and my siblings were competing on how long can one of us could sustain the pose. The longest was over 2 minutes. This asana has difficulty level between intermediate and advanced. I cloned my day-to-day asanas from one of the Jain gurus without thinking much about its benefits. Let’s go through this asana today.

It helps to make our spinal cord strong and flexible. It gives extreme stretch to the backbone. Why is making spinal cord strong and flexible is important? By keeping our spinal cord strong, we keep the flow of energy smooth and fast. The tail bone of our spinal cord is the powerhouse of energy and to keep the flow of energy fast, we need a strong spinal cord. Ultimately, this asana makes your brain sharper 😉

Moreover, it improves your blood circulation as a result of it the becomes hair black & plump. Also, make the skin glow. The pressure on the throat improves the functioning of the vocal chord and the pressure on the lungs makes them release the maximum carbon dioxide, and by the time we are back to normal position we can intake more oxygen.

This yoga pose massages all the internal organs activates digestion, relieves constipation, revitalises the spleen, boosts our immune system, suprarenal glands, promotes the production of insulin by the pancreas and improves liver and kidney function and also helps in curing the diabetes as well. You might have guessed now how powerful this pose is by observing the numerous benefits. The women in the mensuration time or during pregnancy shouldn’t ideally do this pose.
