The quote is the book’s name. That’s an awkward and big name, but the book is fabulous.
Today I finally completed my first book of the year. It is an interesting book that discusses mental models, followed by Munger and Warren. This book is more of a conversation between Warren, Munger, the author, and me. It enlightens you with the examples which Warren and Munger follow in their day-to-day life.
The best take away for me from the book was the backward thinking. As the great mathematician, Jacobi said, “Invert always invert”. We often read the success stories but we missed out on reading failure stories. That is why Munger advices to thinking inversely. If you want to live a happy life, you need to think of the ways to live a sorrow life and make sure you avoid those ways. Eventually, you live a joyful life.
Additionally, we need to focus on how the things work and how they don’t work. Moreover, we need to understand the reasoning behind why the things work in a certain manner. Lastly, we need to know what we know and what we don’t know so that we know our circle of competence.
I highly recommend you to take up this book!
