We discussed the first five skills yesterday. The remaining ones are here…
Skill 6: Become a Master Influencer
Define the goals more clearly to the team. While trying things out of your comfort zone you will need to convince people from another team to trust you and give you a chance to work upon. You need to lead from the front and influence other members.
Skill 7: Master the Art of Managing
Our work should ideally make out manager’s work easier that’s how we progress and become independent. We need to become the manager’s boss.
While working with other teams gaining credibility is more important and we can build than upon common grounds.
Skill 8: Extremely Accountability
What is accountability to you?
It is to take your own responsibility and don’t play the blame game. We often blame luck whenever we fail. On critical analysis, we can figure out where exactly we went wrong.
Owning up your mistake is a bit difficult at times but it speaks about your genuinity. We rarely own up to our mistake we just put the label on someone else.
Skill 9: Become a Planner
Plan out your vision. We rarely know the destination where we want to be. Mostly we just keep traveling cluelessly.
I disagree with it to some extent. It’s okay even if you don’t know where you want to be in the next 10 years. But yeah with a proper end outcome the focus becomes crystal clear.
Skill 10: Track your Success
Develop a habit to track your success. Tracking is difficult. It’s not easy. However, you can experiment with it to turn it into a fun game.
By tracking you know how far you are from the destination. What’s working and what’s not working for your goal. Initially, you might be clueless but with consistency, you can track the progress.
Thanks a lot, Maya for pouring out your experience in the book.
