Being Foolish

To succeed in life one needs to be foolish. Foolish in the sense having the courage to fail doing the impossible. Many of the great ideas are foolish at the beginning. That’s why people don’t work on them because they lack the courage to face the embarrassment of failure. No one likes to fail be it me or you. Everyone of us wants to success in one go. That’s where we need to be foolish and shameless no matter what.

Being foolish in the short run helps you gain a ton of advantages in the long run. You might be wondering how’s that possible. Let me give you a brief example. Many people don’t cold email or cold tweet. Thinking that the other person won’t reply. Ironically the thinking is correct too. However there many people who do cold email or tweet. In 90 out of 100 cases the person reads the email/tweet. In past I have cold emailed to hundreds of people and among them I have received responses from the likes Vinod Khosla, Risto Siilasma, Megan Gebhart, Ankur Warikoo, and more. Their fruitful suggestions were helpful to me.

What’s stopping you to be foolish? In my case it’s generally what will other think of me. Well I must be actually happy if other thinking about me. Apart from oneself people generally think about the celebrity or keynote personalities. There is not end to such doubts so just do it and be foolish in the short run. You will need the courage at the beginning but once you get started it will be roller coaster ride 😉

Today I even cold emailed Vedika Bhaia and cold tweeted James Clear Let’s see how it goes.
