What happens when we solve puzzles?
We utilize our brain to solve the puzzles. By utilizing our brain we keep it more active. Further even research suggest that we can make our brain feel 10 years younger just by solving puzzles. Things decay easily if we don’t use them. Sadly, brain is not an exception here :P. If we put it into work, we grow it more. Sounds easier in words only 😀
Researchers from University of Michigan found that spending 25 minutes a day solving puzzles and riddles can raise your IQ by 4 points. Making you more intelligent but yeah we need to put on the effort over the period of time.
Further even solving puzzles increases the brain production of dopamine. It actually reset the brain. It doesn’t tire it like other dopamine booster products. Hence, a mood booster if you are having a bad day. Moreover, the productivity is skyrocketed especially when you are in good mood.
Researcher from Yale university found that when workers can puzzle together in the workspace it helped them improve their relationships and the ability to cooperate and teamwork.
The way we exercise to keep our body fit. We need to do mental exercises to keep our brain fit. Mental exercise helps the mind to prevent cognitive decline. There are numerous more benefits. But there are two challenges. First one is getting started. If you have started you have solved half the war. The second one is continuing it with over a period of time. That’s a life long challenge 😛 Those are 2 challenges we face while building any habit.
