I have been consuming Brahmi since years. I used to consume it in the form of medicine for fever during my childhood. Recently , I came across this herb in my uncle’s kitchen garden. Too know about it’s benefits we may have to go to ancient Ayurveda texts but thanks to Google and the bloggers out there who have narrated their thoughts but yeah we still need to verify those benefits :P. We can’t blindly believe them.
Brhami is a perennial herb grown in marshy areas throughout South East Asia, Vietnam, China and other countries. Brhami is a Hindi word derived from the word, Brhama, which signifies God Brhama, referring to universal mind or consciousness. Consumption of Brahmi improves memory power and improves functioning of our brain. Additionally it helps to improve concentration power especially for children. In short if you are having hard time to remember your mobile number or even you password :P, it might be the right medicine for you. It decreases cortisol, a stress hormone, thereby bringing in peace and improvising sleep. If you are unable to sleep due to stress, it’s might be the right medicine for you.
It is rich in antioxidant. By the way do you recall what’s antioxidant. Feels like knocking the door of biology. Antioxidant protects the cells from the damages caused by the free radicals. The free radicals may play a part in cancer, heart disease, stroke, and other diseases of ageing.
Further it is a hair tonic. The brahmi oil improves hair growth by nourishing the hair follicles and improving blood circulation in the scalp. Additionally, it helps in getting rid of itching and infections in the scalp and hair follicles. In short if you have hair fall problems and don’t want to be bald soon, it might be the right medicine for you.
There are more benefits of these herb. I wouldn’t have known until I become curious to google it. The information was always out there but I wasn’t curious enough to read or know more about it :D. Ideally 5-6 leaves should be consumed empty stomach in winter season and 2-3 leaves in summer season.
Disclaimer: Please consult your doctor/physician before consuming brahmi. Please don’t consume just on my recommendation.
