After reading a whatsapp forward was googling if the message was really true or just another forward. Google suggested it’s a true one. The story is about Rajaram, an IIT Madras grad and MBA grad from UCLA. Ahaa we see 2 big brands on his portfolio. Strangely he quit his life along with 4 other family members. These is one of these failure stories we were talking about in this previous article.
The whatsapp forward narrates beautifully the essence the way we are programmed in running after success one after another. However, we are not trained in failing. Further when we end up failing, we lost ourselves emotionally. Being emotionally stable, kicks off our rationality and irrationality takes first place. Rajaram lost his entire savings in stock market. You can read more about his story on this NYT article.
Back to the point in training in failure, remind me of this TED talk, where the speaker narrates 100 days of rejection. He practice failure for 100 days, knowingly attempted things where he would fail. That boosted his confidence to great heights. How about failing on the same lines everyday of our own just like Jia Jang. Failing is hard. Who does want to fail in a progressive life? At least not me. Still we need to fail to have a progressive life. Ironically that’s how life is!
Do you recall your last couple of failures? Was it painful or enjoyable to recall them?
Let’s plan out something to be comfortable with our failures.
Until then…
