How to be highly dedicated?

Before deep diving into the topic first we need to be clear on what’s dedication. Dedication means committed to do a task no matter what the situation is. To be highly dedicated there got to be something you are fascinate or interested or its close to your heart. For instance, an athlete like Phelps was highly dedicated to win the Olympics. There are many more athletes who are highly dedicated. But what exactly motivates them to go that extra mile. We may consider that they enjoy the game, literally when we keep on doing the same task for a long duration of time no one likes that. That’s how our brain is. Even athletes has bad days and they don’t want to practice at times. However, we still find them in the field. There is got to be intrinsic motive which pushes them to go a mile forward. The hunger to improve oneself to keep on setting newer records every day.

You maybe thinking, I don’t see the hunger in me. We aren’t hungry at times and stop consuming food. But without food how long do we live in current circumstances. Wondering what’s the medicine to increase the hunger for brain, probably it’s mental exercises for brain. That’s when our brain start to being active, when it’s challenged. But we fall into prey of solving big not just big, very big challenges. Who does want to start small? You got to start small. Do a small experiment. Think of your favourite brand. Be it Apple, Disney, Amazon, Reliance or others. Google about them as to how did it start? Did they start way big? There is no shortcut to success. As Buffet says, “No matter how great the talent or efforts, some things just take time. You can’t produce a baby in one month by getting nine women pregnant” Similarly you can’t be 20 year old just in a year it takes 20 years. There are other things which have compounding growth. Be wise to differentiate between them.

Identifying where to focus might be difficult at times and it’s the critical point from where to start. If you are finding difficult to decide from multiple options, simply pick one by tossing a coin and do it religiously without having second thoughts and just do it by putting up all the strength. Chances are high that you might be moving in the wrong direction. That’s when we need to change the track without regrets. Regrets as in what if I were started on this track first I would have been way ahead by now. Well you might not have been even started, you might have remained stuck in deciding which one to do. Secondly you learnt a valuable lesson, which will be helpful in the long run of life. These only sounds easy, but practising everyday will definitely make the process easy.
