We all consider data is the new Oil. Yeah it is but in the digital world. What about the physical world. What is the next thing on which cars will run. As oil gets depleted we are moving towards the renewable energy. We are mostly storing the energy in the battery. As of now what’s the best batteries that can quickly get charged and are stable. We need a replacement of Oil, where we need only a couple of minute to refuel the tanks. Realistically people aren’t going to wait hours to charge their batteries. What are these batteries based on?There are Li-ion batteries.
There is limited lithium reserves on this planet. Which country has the largest lithium reserve in the World Make a wild guess. Chances are high that you never heard the name before just like me. It’s Bolivia, a country in South America, followed by Argentina and Chile. By 2019, there are only 80 million tones of lithium reserves is identified in the world. 47 out of 80 million tones lies in those top 3 countries. Probably they are gonna be cash rich soon π if they don’t face any internal challenges to produce lithium
But is producing lithium environment friendly. It’s not. Even producing oil is not environment friendly. But at least we won’t be burning lithium like oil on automobiles. But do you really think humans will stop using oil until it is totally depleted. I doubt that. We will figure out other ways to utilise oil. Hoping it won’t be utilised for burning or else the pollution will continue to increase. This decade will tell us how it floats.
