At times we are in some phases, where we need to decide the change we want to have in our life. It can be any kind of change from career path to homes. But we avoid making any decision and want others to take one for us. Maybe out of fear or insecurity.
In such cases, how do one proceed? Simply by having faith in oneself and in one’s ability. Still, the decision may not go our way. We learn from the wrong decisions and improvise on our upcoming decisions. That’s the way life is. Not taking a decision is also a decision.
The tool which might help us gaining more clarity is writing down the thoughts. The clarity of mind helps in forming the decision. The regret minimisation framework also work wonders. The worst case scenarios framework might be helpful too. Observing the problem from third person perspective since we are good at advising others. Begin with the end scenario helps too as in, “What if the next 3 months is the last I have?” There might be other ways too. Choose the one that works. At the end of the day everything is figure out able if really want to figure out the things.
At times, we don’t put the conscious effort to figure out the solutions and keep thinking about the problems at hand. We get into the habit of focusing on the problem. Further, focusing on the solutions might be difficult because of the uncertainty. We want to feel secure in this uncertain world. We can get started with, “Yes, I can figure this out right now” We need to trust ourselves boldly. Just to remind you the power of the brain, it can capture the facial expression in a mere 17 milliseconds.
Sometimes, looking forward things might look tough whereas looking backward the y seem a easy choice. Getting started is half job done. At times we don’t even get started. Life is easy. We just complex it fancy things π By focusing on the wrong traits. It’s never to late to get started on the right track. After all, today is a bright day to start.
