Perspective

During the day, I was reading something about a patient who has lost his parents at a young age i.e. 14. He was the eldest among his siblings. With time he lost them one by one. Later he met the love of his life and get married to her. They had 4 children. The three of them couldn’t survive long. Thereafter, he lost his wife too in her forties. He was in the nursing home and her daughter was in Dubai. Her husband didn’t let her visit her father. Yet here was this lovely man, Lenny who said that he had lived a good life.

Having been through such a tough phase, taking so much of losses, still he had a firm belief toward his life. Isn’t strange? Probably he got this courage from having the freedom to be oneself. It is the greatest freedom of all. He learnt to grow with it.

“Don’t worry about the little stuff in life. Nothing matters at the end.”

One of my friends recently told me, you won’t even remember after a year what were you feeling exactly on this day. I validated by trying to recall about the previous year. Most of the things don’t even matter in our life. It’s all about our perspective and mindset. It’s all beginning in our mind. The fight begins in the mind at first and later on the field.

Even after losing so much in life, Lenny had the courage to have a positive outlook towards his life. He simply accepted the things the way it is and continued to move forward by taking one step at a time. It sounds way easier. But it’s way too difficult to implement in tough times.
