Does environment really effect? Maybe it does. But knowing and realizing are two different things. Realization makes us aware of the changes consciously.
While I was in Delhi, I used to watch IPL at least a few overs regularly. By the time I have reached my smart village, I haven’t watched even an over. In Delhi, the TV set was in good working condition. Additionally I had siblings there who were interested to watch too whereas in the smart village the TV set is not in the stable condition. But that’s good. It gave my eyes more relaxation and more time to focus on important things. IPL will be there next year too. Time once gone can’t be regained. Further I am able to wake up with the chirping sound of birds, the natural alarm, not the artificial one. I don’t have to put on the mobile alarms any more.
Making a little change in environment may result in a drastic change in the habit patterns. I don’t have the mobile data in any longer. I have shifted to wifi completely for the time being. Before going to bed I need to switch off the wifi else it will remain on whole night as a result I can’t use internet before I go to bed. It helped me to decrease the screen time before going to bed. Making the bad habit harder to continue and the good habit easier to continue surely help.
Let’s take an interesting live example. I came across the following message in the morning.
“@amazonIN and @Flipkart sales are on! From 16th to 25th October 2020. To get MAXIMUM savings, UNISTALL both the Apps”
Both the companies advertise a lot, as it helps them to create the environment to make people buy things. We have the tendency to get attracted to the word “SALE”. Further open any newspaper or TV channels you will find their ads. Unconsciously we are investing our precious attention asset on them to make them richer and poorer oneself.

Amazon is even running a contest campaign over Twitter #SpotTheAmazonAd. One of the lucky winner winners has the chance to win the One Plus 8 smart phone. This give away help them in 2 ways. One by creating more awareness among the people. Many twitterians will be jumping and participating in the contest by posting more ads related to Amazon. Creating more feeds. Ultimately, where ever you go in the digital space you will be reminded that there is an ongoing sale. Since we have the tendency to buy during “SALE” season, we end up buying things we don’t need at the first place. The best way to remain aloof is to uninstall those apps first and be conscious enough to acknowledge that someone is attempting sell this things unconsciously. At the end, it’s a mind game. Play wisely!!! Secondly it helps them for tax perspective. There is hardly anything free. Hope you buy only the stuffs that you really need.
