Focusing on the right thing

We are obsessed with numbers and like big numbers. Our mind make us thing 120 seconds is greater than 2 minutes as we are comparing 120 and 2 whereas both are in different dimensions. 120 seconds will make us belief that we achieved something big whereas the reality is of 2 minutes.

At times we end up focusing on the wrong metrics and measure it correctly. Further we even put more than required efforts to win but the effort goes in vain as since beginning our focus was on wrong track.

For instance, Alice is health conscious and want to be thin. She focus on decreasing her weight. Weight is quantifiable. She measures her weight every day. To her surprise, one day she hits the eureka moment and reaches the goal but after that? Generally, she shifts back to her normal routine and end up gaining more weight.

Now lets take, Sita, who is too health conscious and want to be thin. She focuses on building small habits. She keeps on doing yoga on regular basis and increase her efforts over time. It’s a life long process with no endings. She ends up hitting multiple eureka moments. She becomes thin and more healthy and continue her habit.

Most of the time at heart, we know what’s right and what’s gamble for us. We must be brave enough to take the right path else we end up making a fool out of ourselves. Focus wisely. It’s limited just like time.
