Struggle

We mostly focus on the achievements made by someone. It is a rare instance to focus on the struggle of mountain of the that person. We note that the person made the achieve overnight. However, she has been working for a decade at the back when everyone ignored her. Suddenly, the media notices her and she is a star overnight.

If you are attracted to any career, the best way to validate whether you are in for passion or fame is to ask oneself whether you are willing to struggle and enjoy the mundane task. Initially, everything seems exciting but in the long run things may get repeated. For instance, Michael Phelps used to practice swimming from 2004-08, 4 years in a row in the water without any break. We may enjoy swimming once or twice or may be thrice but will we be willing to go into the water for 4 years in a row? If yes, obviously you are interested in swimming and one must surely give it a shot else one needs to figure out something else.

In the long run, the willingness to prepare keeps one going. The will to prepare is way more significant than the will to win. In the will to win, we are focused on the result whereas in the will to prepare we are concentrated on the efforts we need to put on. At times one needs to put on extra efforts that come from inside not just by focusing on the result.

It doesn’t mean we don’t set any goals. Obviously, we must but on the preparation side. Most of people’s focus in decreasing the weight but not on action one needs to take on such as exercise, yoga, sleep and more. You can easily replace the weight thing with any other goal you have in mind and observe the gaps accordingly. Further, after we reach the weight goal of decreasing 20 kg, tendency is high that we will back to normal diet which create more challenges for our body and result in rapid increase of weight.

Hope you align the existing and new goals accordingly!
