The week long Jain festival starts today, popularly known as the Paryushana Parv. The first day is about controlling the appetite. In today’s world, the day is more relevant than ever before as we eat for taste not for energy.
Do we really care about the food?
Few of us really cares while most of us think there is abundant of food and we end up wasting it. The next time if you end up wasting a tiny amount of food. Just think a moment, how many people are putting on the efforts to make the food available at your dinning dinning table. Starting from the scientist who creates seed, then the supplier, the farmers and the labors working along with farmers. Then the buyers, wholesalers, retailers and finally our parents. It is a long chain. Way longer than one can imagine. When we waste, we ignore the hard work put on by these people. That’s why at times, we don’t get results even if we put our 100%. We receive what we give.
The chef plays the most significant role. If s/he is cooking with good intention, the food will be so delicious. On the other hand if s/he is cooking with negative vibrations, the same food will be inedible. We ingest the thoughts of the chef in our brain.
Food and water are the only fuel, we needs to feed ourselves. The body is in taking oxygen on autopilot. However, we are so lazy and casual that we don’t even intake the fuel in a proper way. We make our digestive system do the work of our tooth. Same way our jobs make us do the things we may not be passionate about. The way we treat our body is the way nature will treat us.
According to the international relief agency Mercy Corps, every year 9 million people die out of hunger. Hence, request you to pledge not to waste even a tiny amount of food and water at least at home from today till the end of the life.
Happy Independence Day!!
