Probably you are using a 4G Jio or Airtel sim on your smart device on which you are reading this write up. They label their services as 4G, are they really 4G? Let’s explore it in more detail.

Jio High Speed Internet service is fourth generation (4G) of mobile technology that enables the delivery of high-speed internet services. LTE refers to Long Term Evolution of telecom technology that enables High Definition voice and high-speed internet access.

Description per Jio website

The telecom companies are providing us 4G LTE services. Just by seeing the name 4G we consider it to be true 4G services. Let’s understand the difference between them. As per above definition we know LTE stands for Long Term Evolution. The speed of LTE lies from 20 Mbps to 100 Mbps. Whereas true 4G’s minimum speed is of 100 Mbps. For simplicity we can assume 4G LTE as 3.5 G.

Couple of months back AT&T tested 5G in U.S. It didn’t test the actual 5G. It tested 5Ge. e stands for evolution. 5Ge is simply a variant or aka 4G LTE-A, where A stands for advanced. It is best network available till date. It is not true 5G.

In the 43rd AGM of RIL, Mr. Ambani recently ambitiously talked about launching 5G technology in India. Probably, he was talking about 5Ge not the actual 5G.

Its our fault to assume 5Ge to be 5G on the same line we say we are using 4G instead in reality we are using an inferior version. Those people didn’t branded it like 3.5G because at the end of the day it is about the psychology of human mind.

Knowing what you use, will make you aware of the hidden reality.
